Ready 2 Serve Omaha is a program of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals in partnership with the Women's Fund of Greater Omaha.
Its purpose is to connect individuals seeking volunteer leadership opportunities with nonprofit organizations interested in recruiting new talent.
Who can use Ready 2 Serve Omaha?
Nonprofits who are looking for new talent for leadership positions on committees, councils or their board should create an account on the Ready 2 Serve Omaha site.
Individuals of all ages and backgrounds who are interested in serving area nonprofit organizations in a leadership capacity are encouraged register. Users will be able to search opportunities to serve on nonprofit boards, committees and councils.
What information will I have to share to register?
Nonprofits will have to complete an organization profile to begin their account. Profiles include basic information about your organization. Once the profile has been approved they will be able to begin posting leadership volunteer positions. Individual users will be able to learn more about the organizations by viewing the nonprofits' profiles.
Individuals are asked to complete a basic profile. The profile includes information about the individual's education, current employment, volunteer experience, and community interests. Individuals can choose to share as much or as little information as they choose.
How do I update my information?
Individual and organization users can update their information at any time once they sign into their account.
How is this site monitored?
All accounts must be reviewed and approved prior to becoming active. The site is monitored on a regular basis and any reports of inappropriate activity will be addressed immediately.
Can nonprofits only post one position at a time?
Organizations can post multiple positions at a time. There is currently no limit on the number of positions posted per organization.
Does an organization have to post a position to register?
No. Organizations can register at any time with or without position postings. It is recommended that organizations register as soon as possible so that individual users can learn more about that organization
Will my personal information be shared with others?
Individual users can determine how much of their contact information is made available through Ready 2 Serve Omaha. Users can choose to keep their contact information private; in that case, they will receive an e-mail through the Web site indicating that an organization is interested in them for a leadership volunteer position. At that point the individual can choose to contact the nonprofit directly. Information about users will not be sold or provided to other organizations or individuals.
How do I report problems or concerns about this site?
